[ mood | headachey ]
[ music | 'As Is' by Ani DiFranco ]

Since you ask, yes actually, my cold HAS gotten worse.
My body seems to think that, given all assessment is over, it can now just collapse. It doesnt seem to realise that we are not going home to nice parents who bring one tissues and blanket and soup. We are going to Paris, which will be FREEZING, to stay in a youth hostel, which will quite probably be filthy.
And I TRY to explain this, but my stupid body just refuses to listen, doesn't it? I mean, it's the phlegm that just makes the situation quite unbearable. That, and the fact that I CAN'T BREATHE and also the fact that all the pharmacies are, understandably, largely in Italian so I haven't bought anything to assuage the ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF PAIN I'M IN.
We were meant to have a class filmed for some documentary today, and because I am such a hideously snot gurgling troll monster, I felt obliged to miss the class. So I sat outside the door hoping, nonetheless, to catch some pearls of wisdom (the ones they cast before swine) as they rolled out the door, but then the stupid camera man came out and tried to film me, so I had to run away.
Hazel just came in and told us they only filmed Bri and Raph anyway (understandable also - they both have excellent bone structure). I had better get free lunch.
Saw the leaning tower of Pisa yesterday. It was pretty leany.
Penny sang in a church of San Giovanni. She has the most incredibly clear, sweet voice. It was the day's high point.
That, followed by the chocolate pear tart that was my post lunch dolce.
Which is good, because the day ended quite badly with the throwing of the wobblies and the tension and the bitching.
Will be so freakin glad to get away from this group of people. They are so incredibly juvenile. It's a good thing I'm used to it.
Anyway, send me get well vibes, OK? Otherwise I'll go to the Louvre and sneeze on the Mona Lisa and it will be ALL YOUR FAULT.
Lots of love,
Katherine

I was going to wish you well, but the thought of the Mona Lisa with an Australian gorby is just too enticing.

There must be something about Paris....as I was sick there too! I felt shocking and ended up not being able to talk. Not good but I don't wish that on you. I send you good vibes!! Get Better soon! @--->----

Not much to report from here back in Aus - Socrates is still as crazy as ever. Christmas party was good. I have a cold and feel pretty horrible but hey that's what happens when you have hardly anytime off!

Happy travelling! Look forward to reading more of your adventures!

Oh, I'll send some vibes alright. Tell me when you get them. You'll know they're from me.

"Otherwise I'll go to the Louvre and sneeze on the Mona Lisa and it will be ALL YOUR FAULT."

I emailed them. They'll install a sneeze guard (like they have on sald bars in restaurants) just in case.

They probably already have one! At least, they had them in front of the Botticellis. I'm SURE that's what they were for.

*Engages cultural preservation mode* Get well, please get well. I can't send you get-well vibes. They're expensive to send, and at this time of year, they probably won't get to where you are right now until two weeks after you've left. I'll leave some for you at the airport when I go through there next.
